Why systems tend to fail in July, not January
Heat acts like a load test. Capacitors that measured fine in April can drift out of tolerance at 105°F, contactors pit and stick, and coils that were only mildly dirty can no longer shed heat. That's why a repair visit measures the whole loop — voltage and amperage at the condenser, suction and liquid pressures, and the temperature split between return and supply air. A split in the 16–20°F range generally indicates the system is moving heat as designed; a smaller split can point toward charge or airflow problems.
